Dr. Andrew J. Fishman M.D. and Dr. Bernard Bendok M.D. from Northwestern University were invited to teach a resident training course at the P.A.S.E. lab in St. Louis.  They instructed residents in the surgical technique of extreme lateral skull base approach for the treatment of complex tumors and aneurysms.

Dr. Fishman presents his work on the latest developments in minimally invasive approaches for challenging aneurysms. The work involves a transtemporal modification of the subtemporal approach which results in minimal brain retraction and better visualization.

In 2009 Dr. Andrew Fishman presented on a consensus opinion panel regarding the management of newly diagnosed acoustic neuromas and the management of Neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2).   Among the issues discussed included novel image guided applications for minimally invasive skull base approaches to tumors with the intent of preserving residual hearing. http://anausa.org
